Zaterdag 13 oktober 2012 was het hoogtepunt in de activiteiten.

Ochtends werd een bijzondere tentoonstelling in het (HCL) geopend, getiteld ‘Sporen van Saskia’ in aansluiting op de dag daarvoor geopende en even interessante kunsttentoonstelling ‘Saskia: meer dan Rembrandts muze’. Ook werd zaterdag de Saskiabiografie gepresenteerd door Rembrandtkenner Ben Broos. Bij de ingang van de Prinsentuin, naast het HCL, was een groot graffitiproject zichtbaar, gewijd aan Saskia.  Haar geboortehuis aan Ossekop 11 was deze dag ook te bezichtigen.

Om 12.00 u. verschenen ruim 100 Saskia’s vanuit het hele land in stadsherberg Bellevue waar hen een warme ontvangst, incl. een mooi Saskialied door Pietrix Dijkstra, wachtte. Al die Saskia’s met aanhang trokken daarna via de in steen gehouwen doopakte van Saskia op het Oldehoofsterkerkhof naar het HCL om een catwalk bij te wonen door studentes van het Friesland College. Zij toonden door hen ontworpen kleding, geïnspireerd door de 17e en 21e eeuw aan het  publiek.

Daarna togen al die Saskia’s met de studentes in een lange stoet via de Grote Kerkstraat naar de Grote Kerk om daar HET KLAPSTUK van het Saskiajaar bij te wonen, te weten de SASKIAVIERING die om 14.00 u. begon.

Deze theaterproductie over het leven Saskia met Rembrandt bestond uit drama, muziek en dans. Met dank aan de scriptwriter (Janna de Lathouder), de regisseur (Onno Spreij) en de producer (Saskia Wagenvoort) en het werkelijk schitterende spel van alle spelers en speelsters heeft deze voorstelling op de bezoekers een onuitwisbare indruk gemaakt. De vele enthousiaste reacties na afloop (zie facebook saskia400) getuigen daarvan. Mensen waren ‘verrukt’,  ‘ontroerd’ , ‘geraakt’ enz. door deze unieke (want eenmalige) productie. De organisatie dankt alle mensen, (semi-)professionals, vrijwilligers en sponsors hartelijk voor hun geweldige inzet. En natuurlijk de mensen die hiervan in de volle kerk getuige mochten zijn. Onder FOTO’s  krijgt u een impressie van deze onvergetelijke Saskiaviering.

Na afloop van de Saskiaviering werd het megaportret onthuld van het schilderij Flora van Rembrandt waarvoor Saskia fraai uitgedost model stond. Dat mozaïekportret bestaat uit duizenden foto’s van eigentijdse Saskia’s uit Nederland en tal van andere landen. Wij danken ook hen voor hun medewerking. Het mozaïekportret is nu als eerste en enige object te zien in het (nog niet geopende) nieuwe Fries Museum.

Rembrandt Van Rijn, the Artist and the Man

Rembrandt van Rijn was a seventeenth century painter and etcher whose work commanded the Dutch Golden Age.
